Happy Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day.  Wes woke up early to hang out with Alex while I slept in.  Then when I woke up Wes made breakfast for Alex and myself.  Autzen ate some too.  We hung out in the afternoon and tried to take Alex swimming. The pool is still a little too cold.  Later that evening we went to Carly and Ben's house for dinner.  The guys made dinner while we played with the kids.  Wes did great at grilling for everyone.  It was a great day. I wish I could have spent it with my mom but we are looking forward to spending time with her in a few weeks.

Last weekend we decided to take Alex to the park.  We were trying to find one that is close to our house.  I guess we drove around too long because when we looked in the back seat Alex was sound asleep.   Once we got home we took Alex out of the car and he woke up so we put him back in the car and went to the park.

Tonight we went out to dinner with my friend Julie, her husband Mike, their kids Adam and Sarah and Julie's mom, Jane.  They live in Chicago and are in town for vacation. It was so good to see Julie.  I haven't seen her since Wes and I got married.  Adam and Sarah are adorable.  I hope they have a great time while they are in town.

Happy Easter!   Alex and I had a great day today.  Unfortunately Daddy had to work this weekend.  But he did give Alex his Easter basket before he left for the hospital.  This afternoon we went to Carly and Ben's house.  They had an Easter egg hunt for the kids.  It was so nice of them to invite us over.

Our April visit to St. Louis

This past weekend Alex, Abby and I went to St.  Louis.  It will be my last trip there for awhile since DJ will be arriving in 4 months.  We had a great time. It is always nice to be there but the trips go by too fast.  Alex just loves spending time with Grammy and Grandpa. He even looked at my dad and said "Pa."  That made his day!  Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Our last flight was difficult with the car seat so my mom found this seatbelt that wraps around the seat for Alex.  He did really well and liked being in his own seat like a big boy. He even fell asleep for a little bit on the plane ride there.

My mom's birthday is April 10 so we celebrated a little early.  Bruce and Judy even brought over an ice cream cake.

Grandpa...what are you wearing?   my dad was getting ready to go to the Cardinals season opener.  It was supposed to be 40 degrees.  But he went anyway.  He said there were snow flakes towards the end of the game.  And the Cardinals lost.

We went to St. Louis for Abby's bridal shower.  The shower was great.  Abby and Tri had a lot of fun and they got a lot of great gifts.

Put the paper in the box

Alex found a new toy to play with.  My dad would put tissue paper in a box and then Alex would take it all out, walk through it and then run to the kitchen. He would give my dad enough time to put the tissue paper back before running in to do it again. He must have done this 10 times before we left the paper out of the box when he ran in.  He looked at it for a minute then put the paper in the box and then started all over by taking it out.  We were all tired after watching him to do this for 20 minutes.  But he had so much fun!!!
