MLR Open

My sister came into St. Louis for part of the time while we were there. One of the reasons that she came in town was to volunteer at the MLR Open. Abby's best friend Michelle was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 at the age of 27. She was also pregnant with her first child at the time. After her diagnosis she gave birth to a healthy baby boy and then she had to undergo surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation. In 2008 the MLR Open was started in Michelle's name and the proceeds would benefit young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2 years the golf tournament has raised over $60,000. This year the MLR Open donated the money to Gateway of Hope. Michelle is truly an inspiration and I admire her strength and courage. She is the definition of a survivor!!

Imagination Avenue

Wes and I took Alex and Evan to Imagination Avenue before our trip to St. Louis. It is an indoor play area. They have a rooms that are designed for the kids to use their imagination. Some of the rooms are a house, hospital, market and fire station. The boys had a great time and we enjoyed watching them play.
Evan hung out in the infant area. He loved the school bus!
Our friends Rachel and Doug met us there with their son Ethan. Alex and Ethan played in the room with the work bench.
Alex found the market and loved the cash register
