Evan's Coming Home!!!

Last Sunday Wes and I went to the hospital to visit Evan.  When we got there the nurse told us that he would be coming home on Monday. We were shocked!!  We knew he was doing well but we thought he would be there a few more days.  Wes and I realized that we were not ready for Evan to come home.  We spent the next few hours getting ready.  By the end of the evening we had gone shopping for clothes, put 2 pack n plays together and washed tons of clothes and blankets.  Now we were ready for our baby boy to come home!!!

so excited to bring Evan home. It was a long 9 days

Evan's week in the NICU

Evan was taken to the NICU after he was born because he was premature.  He has done amazing!!!  The nurses say he is mature for his age because a baby born at 33 weeks isn't supposed to know how to take a bottle.  We are so proud of Evan.  He was doing well eating and then developed jaundice. He was put on a bili blanket for a few days to help decrease the bilirubin.  While he was on the blanket his eating slowed down a bit. Today Wes and I went to see Evan and he was taken off the blanket and his ng tube was taken out because he is eating so well.  This past week has been difficult going back and forth from the hospital but we feel so fortunate that Evan is only there to feed and grow. We know he will be able to come home soon!!!

We can't thank my parents enough for coming in town to help us with Alex.  We couldn't have done this without you.  Alex and Evan are so lucky to have the best Grammy and Pa

Evan Joseph Tyree

Evan Joseph Tyree was born on Saturday June 20th.  After spending 6 days in the hospital... Evan decided he wanted to meet us.  My parents went back to my house to get ready for Abby and Tri's couples shower and Wes was at home with Alex waiting for the babysitter.  So my friend Carly came to the hospital to sit with me. Litttle did she know that she would be with me when Evan was born.  My water broke and 10 minutes later we welcomed Evan into the world.  I can't thank Carly enough for being with me.  She is an amazing friend!!!  Unfortunately Evan came so fast that Wes wasn't there for the birth. But he was there soon after.  I was able to see Evan for a minute after he was born and then he was taken to the NICU. We feel so lucky to have a healthy baby boy!!!

Admitted to the hospital

On Monday June 15 I was admitted to the hospital for preterm labor.  I was given many different medications before the contractions slowed down.  I was also given steroid shots to help mature the baby's lungs. My parents came in town early to help take care of Alex.  I can't thank them enough for everything they did for us.  It was a difficult week.  Seeing Alex was the highlight of my week.  I missed him so much but I knew he was in good hands.

Kevin, Jocelyn and Connor visit

Wes' brother, Kevin, and his wife, Jocelyn and their son, Connor came to visit us a few weeks ago.  They were meeting Alex for the first time.  Connor had a blast swimming.  We couldn't get him out of the pool. We also took him to his first baseball game.  Hopefully he will become a Diamondbacks fan.  Unfortunately our visit was cut a little short because I was admitted to the hospital.

Alex thought it was so funny that Connor would chase him.  They had a lot of fun together. We hope to see them again soon
Alex started playing with one of Connor's toys that he brought.  Connor was so nice to his cousin....he left the spaceship here for Alex.
