Wes and I have been going to San Diego every year since we moved to Phoenix. Over the years we have added Moose to our trip and then Alex started going when he was 7 months old. This year would be Evan's first vacation to San Diego. This year was extra special because Grammy and Pa joined us for the week and Aunt Abby and Uncle Tri met us for part of the week. We rented a duplex that was big enough for all of us so it was so nice to be together. Our trip did not start off very well. The last few years we had to rent a minivan to take all of our stuff. When we went to pick up our suburban the rental company was so rude that we had to find a minivan with just a days notice. We were lucky and we picked up the van on Saturday. Later that day Alex started to get sick with a fever. We were hoping he would feel better on Sunday for our drive. He woke up still not feeling well but we loaded up the car and headed off to San Diego. We thought he would rest in the car and we would take it easy until he started feeling better.

Once we arrived we took the boys to the beach. Alex was so excited!! I think the fresh air made him feel a little better.

The next day we woke up and Alex seemed to be feeling much better so we decided to go to the zoo. My dad's Aunt Julie lives in San Diego so she met us at the zoo. Evan's first trip to the World Famous San Diego Zoo!!

My Aunt Julie came over that night and brought a birthday cake and flowers for my mom. Her birthday is April 10 but we wanted to celebrate a little early!
