Eckert's

I was so excited that we were going to be able to go to Eckert's to go strawberry picking. We really wanted to go there last year for peach picking but in August it was just too hot!! Eckert's is in Belleville, Illinois and it took us 45 minutes to get there but it was worth the drive.

We got on the tractor and it drove us to the strawberry field so we could start picking our own strawberries
strawberry picking was perfect for the boys because they could reach in and find the strawberries themselves. They looked like they were having so much fun!
Evan and Pa searching for some yummy strawberries
look mommy!
finding more...
Grammy was determined to find some strawberries

Evan was really good at picking the strawberries too
once he was done he started throwing hay
so cute ...walking together
in the end we came home with over 8 lbs of strawberries!!
Eckert's had a great cafe for lunch and then we headed back outside to enjoy some rides
Alex couldn't wait to find the ferris wheel. He even went by himself
so the ferris wheel wasn't that big and the kids were inside a cage during the ride
Alex on the airplane ride
Pa and Alex on the train
I wasn't sure if Evan would sit still on a ride but he really wanted to be with Alex so I let him ride. He LOVED it!! The smile on his face was priceless!
still smiling!
the boys went on a pony ride too
We had an amazing day at Eckert's Farm! I can't wait to go back!!
on our way home we saw the St. Louis Arch
